Balance Therapy Program

Every movement we make involves balance control. Balance problems can affect people of all ages. The Wellness Works Therapy Balance Program is available to provide care for you and your loved ones whether loss of balance occurs early in development or during the later stages in life.

Every day we protect ourselves and our loved ones from harm by making correct choices. Balance is maintained when the sense of touch, vision and the inner ear work in harmony with the brain. We rely on our somatosensory system, our feet and joints to tell us if the surface we are standing on is uneven or moving.  We rely on our visual system (eyes) to tell us if the environment around us is moving or still. We also rely on our vestibular system (inner ear) to alert us if we are upright or leaning, standing still or moving.

Our Program:

The Wellness Works Therapy Balance Program is managed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy and uses the expertise of several different trained and licensed practitioners including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists depending on the needs of the patient.

The first step in the rehabilitation of balance is an appointment for an evaluation and screening of the balance systems to determine your individual needs. These measures help guide your rehabilitation process.
