Do you accept my HMO?
When you enroll with an HMO, you are given the option of which medical group you prefer. Providers like Wellness Works Therapy cannot contract with the actual HMO (Blue Shield etc.), but must contract with the medical group such as Facey Medical Group. In order for us to accept your HMO, we must be contracted with your medical group. We are always contracting with new medical groups, so please don’t hesitate to call us to find out if we accept your medical group/IPA.

Do you accept Medicaid/Medi-cal?
We currently are not a Medicaid/Medi-cal provider. We are contracted with several IPAs and/or Medical Groups that offer Medi-cal however we must receive an authorization from the HMO Medical Group/IPA.

What is the HMO Intake Process?
Patients who are requesting services should ask their general physician to submit a referral request to your insurance company. You have the option of requesting us as the provider. It is at the discretion of the HMO to decide which provider they will refer you to. The HMO faxes us the authorization and then we will follow up with you to schedule your evaluation/treatment.

What is the PPO Intake Process?
Patient can call our intake department and it takes fifteen minutes for us to get all your basic info and insurance info. We will also need a prescription from your MD in order for us to verify your insurance benefits. Once we receive a prescription and general intake information, we then verify your benefits and call you within 48 hours for scheduling.

Do you accept Medi/Medi?
Yes, however Medicare must be your primary Carrier.

Why do you need a prescription from my doctor?
The State of California requires all licensed therapists to work with the care of a physician, which requires us to have a prescription/referral script from your doctor. The State of California requires us to have a prescription for all Occupational, Physical, and/or Speech Therapy whether it is through insurance or private pay. A therapist can lose their license if they are treating without a current prescription.

How much do I have to pay?
Each insurance plan is different so we recommend that you give us a call. We will then verify your benefits and let you know your out of pocket cost.

Will you waive my co-pay?
In order to be an in-network preferred provider, we have accepted special rates that make it not feasible for us to waive any co-pays. Patients will save money by going to an in-network preferred provider because the rates are lower and their insurance will cover a higher percentage than an out-of-network provider.

Do you accept cash?
Yes, we have cash programs and the prices range depending on the evaluation and treatment. Please call us for more information.
